Smithsonian Commission
In December 2009, James was commissioned to produce six pathogen sculptures for the Smithsonian Institute's National Museum of Natural History. The sculptures, envisioned by paleoanthropologist and program director Dr. Rick Potts, are now part of the permanent exhibit, The David H. Koch Hall of Human Origins. This exhibit opened March 17th, 2010, marking the 100th anniversary of the Smithsonian Institute. The glass sculptures are of Cholera, HIV, Bubonic Plague, Smallpox, Influenza, and Entamoeba Histolytica.

On March 4th, 2011, our masks made their runway debut at the Miami Beach International Fashion Week, marking a milestone moment. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Fashion Designer Erin Healy for selecting these pieces to complement 2011 Fall Collection.
